Thanks to her role as Nadia Edgar in The Boys, Claudia Doumit has become a global superstar. Her participation in the project has also contributed to a romantic relationship with Jack Quaid, who plays Hughie Campbell. Online discussions about Claudia’s ethnicity have surfaced online following the premiere of season 4 of The Boys.
Claudia Doumit is Lebanese, Australian, and Italian
Claudia Doumit was born in May 1992 to Mary Zavaglia and Morrie Doumit in Sydney, Australia. She is of Italian, Lebanese, and Australian descent. Claudia grew up alongside an older brother, James, and has maternal grandparents from Italy.
She is proud of her ethnicity and appreciative of the opportunity to portray it on screen. “To be able to play a Middle Eastern woman like my role models is very special to me,” Claudia told The Hollywood Reporter. “You don’t realize how much it means to you until you are playing a character that you thought would never be written.”
Claudia talked to Hindustan Times about the importance of diversity and representation in pop culture: “Art imitates life and life imitates art. So it’s so important to see the correct representation, the correct perspective of different people on screen. I hope younger girls can see someone like them on screen and go, ‘Oh cool, I exist out there in the world’.”
