Sanchez was the first Hispanic woman to anchor KCOP-TV’s 11 o’clock broadcast. “I was just trying to make my way; I was just trying to get through,” Sanchez talked to The Hollywood Reporter about her achievement. “I never really thought about it until people started saying, ‘Wow, this is kind of a big deal.”
