After is a romantic drama that came out in theaters on April 12, 2019, in the United States. This movie is based on an adult fiction novel of the same name that was written by Anna Todd and came out in 2014.
After is about a college student, Tessa Young, played by Josephine Langford, who gets involved with a “bad boy,” Hardin Scott, who is played by Hero Fiennes-Tiffin.
After received rather awful reviews from critics, scoring only 18% on Rotten Tomatoes. Apparently, the biggest problem with the movie was the screenplay. On the other hand, the audience score was quite a bit higher at 73%. Also, despite the bad reviews, After was a success at the box office. It grossed a worldwide total of $67.2 million, and its production budget was only $14 million.
This movie also won the Teen Choice Awards for Choice Drama Movie in 2019.
A sequel was announced in May of 2019, and Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes-Tiffin will return to play the main characters.
Is After (2019) on Netflix?
If you missed After in theaters and want to see it on Netflix, will you be able to?
That depends on what region you are in.
After is currently available for streaming on Netflix in the UK and Ireland. It is also available for streaming in Hong Kong, Japan, and Thailand.
After is not on Netflix in the US, Australia, or Canada at the present time.
Actually, in Australia, After was just released in theaters in July of 2019.
Will After (2019) be coming to Netflix in the US, Australia, or Canada in the future?
It is too soon to tell if and when After (2019) will be coming to other regions such as the US, Australia or Canada.
After is being distributed by Aviron Pictures. While Aviron Pictures seems to have a good relationship with Netflix, at the present time, there does not seem to be an exclusive output deal between these two companies.
This means that Netflix will need to buy the rights to stream After in each separate region. Whether Netflix will choose to do this is unknown at this time. After appears to be doing well on Netflix in the UK, so it may decide to buy the rights for other regions as well.
If this happens, After will probably come to Netflix in the US in late 2019 or early 2020.
