Fred Durst is an American singer who shot to fame as the frontman of the band Limp Bizkit. The band first gained acclaim in the underground music scene before signing a deal with flip records in 1997. Limp Bizkit’s first album didn’t cause much of a stir, but it earned Fred and his bandmates further exposure.

Mainstream success came with Significant Other and Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water. The band released their sixth and latest album Gold Cobra in 2011. Durst has since immersed himself in film production and direction.

Fred is set to tour with Limp Bizkit from July to August 2021

Ten years after releasing Gold Cobra, Limp Bizkit is set to go on a United States tour with Fred Durst as the frontman. The tour will start in Chicago on 29th July 2021 and end in Los Angeles on 24th August 2021.

Limp Bizkit has long promised to release a seventh album titled Stampede of the Disco Elephants. The band’s guitarist, Wes Borland, told Johnny Christ of Drinks with Johnny that the album is still in the works.

According to Borland, the band has completed production, but Fred has yet to add his vocals. “Fred has been consistently kind of unsatisfied with where the vision is,” Borland said. Per Borland, Durst will add lyrics soon. He said:

“I think he’s [Durst] finally at the point now where’s he’s gonna pick a set of these songs that he’s finally cool with and finish them, and we’re gonna finish a record. I doubt it will be called Stampede of the Disco Elephants at that point. I will definitely say that the riffs and the music – it’s the best stuff I’ve ever done as a musician.”

Limp Bizkit’s fans, therefore, have a reason to be excited. The album will come once Fred delivers vocals that he is satisfied with.

Borland also talked about his improving relationship with Fred, which has been chaotic in the past. Before the band achieved mainstream success, Borland left temporarily due to a disagreement with Fred. Wes said:

“He and I great along great. We had a tumultuous relationship over the years, but it just took some time for us to grow up as people. It’s like being in a family, and families don’t always get along. But you’re stuck together, so you gotta work it out.”

Fred’s latest obsession appears to be creating TikTok videos

Fred Durst is still a trendy man. He boasts over 150k followers on TikTok, who get regular comedic videos from Fred.

Durst is perhaps the last person you expect to be creating funny skits on TikTok. However, he seems to be enjoying it, and some of the videos will draw a laugh.

Fred’s venture into film production and direction hasn’t gone well

Fred’s first appearance in a film came when he played himself in Zoolander in 2001. Two years later, he appeared as himself again in Pauly Shore is Dead

In 2006, he landed the central role of Depute Bobby Caine in Population 436. He made his directorial debut in The Education of Charlie Banks in 2007.

A year later, he worked with Keke Palmer and Ice Cube in The Longshots. He immersed himself in production work after Limp Bizkit released Gold Cobra in June 2011.

In February 2018, Fred started directing The Fanatic. Despite an inspiring performance from John Travolta, the film attracted mainly negative reviews.

In 2020, Fred received a Golden Raspberry Award nomination for Worst Director due to his performance in The Fanatic
