On June 21, 2019, a remake of the classic 1988 horror movie, Child’s Play, will come out in theaters. According to rumor, it will stay close to the original. On the other hand, Chucky, who is voiced by Mark Hamill, will be equipped with modern technology, including WiFi.

When the original Child’s Play came out in theaters, it was surrounded by controversy from those that feared that this movie could incite violence in children. Since that time, Child’s Play has become a cult classic spawning six sequels.

Yet, MGM and United Artists still held the right to the original Child’s Play, including the right to create remakes. So, now there are two Child’s Play franchises, who appear to be rivals of each other.

Will Child’s Play (2019) be coming to Netflix?

The answer to this is, no, Child’s Play (2019) will probably not be coming to Netflix.

There was a time when MGM and Netflix had good relations, and MGM content went to Netflix, but that time is now over. MGM signed a non-exclusive deal with Hulu, and in response, Netflix backed out of its agreement with them. It is still possible that Child’s Play will come to Netflix, but not very likely.
