Whitney Way Thore is an American reality show star who shot to fame for starring in TLC’s My Big Fat Fabulous Life. Thore gained recognition as a producer on the radio show Jared & Katie in the Morning. In February 2014, Whitney featured in a YouTube video posted by the radio station titled A Fat Girl Dancing.
The body positivity message and the girl in the video went viral, attracting numerous media outlets. My Big Fat Fabulous Life debuted in January 2015 and the second season premiered in September 2015.

Whitney found out via phone call that her ex-fiancé had impregnated another woman
In December 2019, Whitney declared herself to be ‘quite possibly the happiest woman alive’ after she announced her engagement to Chase Severino. Season seven of My Big Fat Fabulous Life ended with a newly engaged couple staring at a bright future.
However, the engagement ended after Chase’s infidelity led to an unplanned pregnancy. Whitney told E! Online that the couple’s relationship started to suffer after she left for Europe without Chase. Severino intended to inform Whitney of the pregnancy in person, but Whitney declined to meet him due to the spread of the pandemic. Therefore, Chase broke the news via the phone. Whitney wrote on Instagram:
“After experiencing a lot of ups and downs and still living apart, Chase reconnected with a woman with whom he has had a long history. Chase recently told me this information and the fact that I had resulted in pregnancy.”
The Covid-19 pandemic denied Whitney the comfort of friends as she struggled to process the end of her engagement. It got tougher for Thore to process the breakup after fans started to accuse her of faking her relationship with Chase. “People actually say that my friends are paid actors or that nobody could really like me, so obviously they must be getting a big benefit from it,” Whitney said.
Thankfully, her mom was around to offer some support. Her longtime friend and roommate Buddy Bell also offered a shoulder to cry on and words of affirmation. “He’s been the most wonderful person to me,” Whitney stated. “I could never repay him, literally, for the rest of my life.” Chase and Whitney fell out completely, but she told E! Online that he reaches out to her whenever necessary.
Whitney’s parents supported her after the breakup, but they are worried that they might pass away before she settles down
Whitney Thore was born on 14th April 1984 in Greensboro, North Carolina, to Glenn and Barbara Thore. Thore’s parents have always supported Whitney through the ups and downs of her life, and they were there to support her when Chase cheated on her.
Thore told E! Online that her parents were disappointed, but they maintained their calm and offered stability. However, despite them putting on a calm front, Thore could feel their concern. Whitney explained:
“They haven’t said this, but obviously I think that they’re probably, you know, they worry about me like settling down, finding happiness while they’re still on the Earth, so I’m sure that they’re not too happy that I had to start over… They’re no closer to grandchildren or anything like that, so it kind of sucks for them as well.”
There are rumors that Whitney might be getting back with her ex Lennie Alehat
The synopsis for the 15th December 2020 episode of My Big Fat Fabulous Life read in part: “Also, after Buddy steps up to console Whitney, he finds himself sidelined by another man from her past.”
The other man in the synopsis turned out to be Whitney’s ex Lennie Alehat. He appeared in seasons two, three, and four of the show. In 2018, Whitney wrote on Facebook that she maintained a cordial relationship with Lennie after their breakup: “Lennie wasn’t for me, but he is a good person and has continued to support me even though we broke up 2.5 years ago.”
Lennie reached out to Whitney via social media to comfort her after her break up with Chase. Lennie then visited Whitney at her home, and she seemed quite thrilled to see him. Whitney and Lennie separated after a cheating scandal involving Lennie, but they seemed to have put their differences behind them.
Alehat confessed that he still has feelings for Whitney, and it seems like Whitney is prepared to give the relationship another shot. There is no news of a reunion, but it appears quite likely.
