Unless you live under a rock, you have seen Hasbulla Magomedov aka Mini Khabib on social media. Hasbulla popularity grew in 2020, and in 2021, he is virtually everywhere. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok; you name it. At first, Hasbulla’s appearance will confuse you; he has the stature of a little boy, but his face looks way older.
Hasbulla looks like a five-year-old boy, but he is an 19-year-old blogger from Makhachkala, Dagestan. Contrary to popular opinion, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Hasbulla are not related. Hasbulla and Khabib hail from the same region, and they do know each other, but they share no familial connection.
The growth disorder behind Hasbulla’s stature has yet to be made public, but experts claim he has Growth Hormone Deficiency
The disorder behind Hasbulla’s growth defect has yet to be made public, but reports suggest that Hasbulla has Growth Hormone Deficiency (also known as dwarfism). It occurs when the pituitary gland fails to produce sufficient amounts of somatotropin, the growth hormone.
A genetic anomaly can be the root cause of the hormone deficiency, or the pituitary gland may be absent from birth. A brain injury can also cause hormone insufficiency. Insufficient production of other hormones can also cause Growth Hormone Deficiency.
Dr. Karan Raj posted a video on TikTok attempting to diagnose Hasbulla’s condition. He opines that Hasbulla has Growth Hormone Deficiency, but couldn’t give the reason behind Hasbulla’s condition. Raj stated that, a lot of the time, doctors are unable to explain why people have the disorder.
“If diagnosed early, it can be treated with daily human growth hormone injections,” Dr. Raj says. If the deficiency is diagnosed in childhood it can be treated with Human Growth Hormone injections to spur adolescent development.
Lionel Messi, perhaps the greatest footballer to have ever lived, was diagnosed with Growth Hormone Deficiency aged 10, and had his treatment paid by FC Barcelona when he joined the club’s academy. It’s perhaps a little too late for Hasbulla to get treatment, but he doesn’t seem to mind.
Hasbulla’s fight against Abduroziq has drawn criticism from some quarters
Hasbulla’s content is mostly fun, and nobody has a problem with that. His near 1m following on Instagram shows that people agree with his content.
However, his fight against social media star Abduroziq has drawn some criticism. The fight was allegedly planned by MMA fighter Asxab Tamaev and happened on 18th May 2021. Hasbulla shared the face-off between him and Abduroziq on social media.
The ‘fight’ has become quite popular, but has also faced criticism from some quarters. Uliana Podpalnaya, the head of Russian Dwarf Athletic Association, described the fight as ‘unethical and wrong’ in a statement to Gazeta.ru.
The rivalry between Abdu and Hasbulla almost culminated in blows at UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi. Hasbulla attended the event on UFC president Dana White’s invitation.
“I don’t know if he’ll fight in the UFC, but he’s definitely gonna do something with us,” Dana said. Hasbulla contributed to the night’s entertainment by going after his rival Abdu.
Security separated the pair before the fight got nasty, but the duo’s attempts to get at each other amused netizens. Hasbulla landed a kick, but Abdu opines that he won. “He made it all clear!” Rozik wrote. “He ran off like a little girl. Mission accomplished bro.”
