On July 12, 2019, a new film in the disaster horror genre will be coming out in theatres by the name of Crawl. Crawl was produced and directed by Alexandre Aja. It was also produced by Craig Flores and Sam Raimi.

Crawl is set in a Florida town that is hit by a Category 5 hurricane. The town authorities ordered an evacuation, but Haley Keller, played by Kaya Scodelario, goes against this order. She does this because her father, Dave Keller, played by Barry Pepper, is missing. Haley finds her father in a crawlspace of their family home, but soon she realized that she has other problems. Apparently, their house is invested by aggressive giant alligators.

The screenplay was written by Michael Rasmussen and Shawn Rasmussen, and Crawl is being distributed by Paramount Pictures. Ross Anderson, Anson Boon, and Jose Palma also star in this film.

Will Crawl be coming to Netflix in the future?

If you do not want to see Crawl at the theater, will you be able to watch it at home with your Netflix account?

Unfortunately, it is too early to predict whether Crawl will come to Netflix. It is more likely in some regions than in others.

There are times that we can say with confidence that a film will come to Netflix or it will not come to Netflix long before it comes out in theaters. This is because different distribution companies have different relationships with this streaming giant. At the present time, the relationship between Netflix and Paramount Pictures is a good one. Indeed, they have entered into a multi-picture deal for Paramount to produce films for Netflix.

Even though these companies have a good relationship, they do not have an exclusive contract in any region. In Canada, most Paramount Picture films go to Netflix, so Crawl probably will as well.

In the U.K., if Crawl does come to Netflix, it will take some time. Paramount Pictures usually go to Sky and Now TV for a time before they became available for other streaming companies.

In the U.S., there is a contract between Paramount and Hulu that runs until 2020, and Paramount also sends some of its films to Amazon Prime Video. This means that if Crawl does come to Netflix, it will not be for a very long time.

It is quite uncommon for Paramount films to come to Netflix in Australia. It is more likely that Crawl will go to Amazon Prime or Foxtel.

If you are looking for something to watch on Netflix in the meantime, however, you might want to consider:

  • The Silence
  • Killing Ground
  • 47 Meters Down
