In July 2021, the family bought an adorable puppy, Bubba. The kids had long wanted a puppy, but Justin’s reservations about pets kept the family from acquiring a dog. For fans of the family, a puppy brought the promise of new and diverse content.
Sadly, the brown furry pup with snow-white paws died days after its introduction to the family.
Justin killed the dog in a freak accident witnessed by the family
On 28th July 2021, Justin and Brooke posted a video informing the world that Bubba had passed away.
Justin stated that he wasn’t sure about making the video as it concerned such an emotional subject and because he was responsible for Bubba’s death.
Brooke and Justin clarified throughout that Bubba’s death was an accident. Further, they explained that the dog succumbed to its injuries because of its size. The pair said:
“It wasn’t Justin’s fault. Justin was at the wrong place at the wrong time. The puppy was, I guess. I didn’t know what was happening. What happened was the puppy got hurt and then because the puppy was so little, the puppy died. It was super traumatic for everyone. Everyone was there – we saw the whole thing.”
The pair assured their fans that Justin wanted nothing but the best for the puppy. They saw the death as a lesson in appreciating the love you have before it goes away.
“Tell them [you love them] when they are alive,” the couple said. “That’s what Bubba taught us.”
