When will The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4 premiere?
It’s currently unclear when The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4 will premiere, but we predict that it will drop in December 2020. The past 2 seasons of the show premiered in December 2018 and 2019, and we suspect that Amazon will continue with this pattern. We will inform you once an exact date is announced.
The show’s creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, revealed in 2017 that the show was initially scripted for ‘four to five’ seasons. That statement is quite vague, and thus we are unsure whether we will get more seasons of the show after season 4.
What happened in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 3?
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel started with Midge on tour and ended with uncertainty over her future as a comedian. When Reggie advised Midge to talk about Shy as part of her act, he didn’t know that she would talk about Shy’s sexuality.
Midge didn’t explicitly state that Shy was gay, but she used a series of stereotypical comments that revealed Shy’s secret. Midge’s jokes about Shy were not only dangerous for a Black man in that era, but they were also deeply offensive for Shy.
Midge only did it for the comedy, but in doing so, she also lost her ticket to the international stage. Shy asked Reggie to fire Midge and Susie from the European part of the tour. Season 3 ends as Susie and Midge sob together as they watch Shy’s tour jet disappear into the New York night sky.
The future is uncertain for Midge, especially after Susie gambled all of her money away. Susie decided to burn her childhood home to recover Midge’s money through insurance fraud.
What to expect in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4?
Mrs. Maisel season 4 has many questions to answer, especially regarding the direction of Midge’s career. She committed what looked like career suicide during her Apollo show, and it will be interesting to see how she gets back on her feet. We are certain that Midge is destined for greatness, and we can’t wait to see how she recovers from this setback.
Susie’s gambling problem will also come into focus in season 4. Susie had to burn her house to recover Midge’s money, and it’s only a matter of time before Midge discovers her gambling issue. Season 4 will also reveal whether Susie’s gambling will affect Midge’s career.
Susie is in financial trouble now that she only has one client, and she has to be aggressive if she wants to thrive. We doubt that she will be satisfied with 10% of Midge’s radio commercial clients, and it might force her to search for new clients.
We expect most of the cast to return for season 4, but it will be interesting to see how the show deals with Lenny Bruce’s death. Lenny died in 1966, but his death might not even be a factor in season 4 barring a major time jump.
Midge’s relationship status will also be addressed in season 4. Things looked to be going well for Midge and Joel, and they might not get divorced. However, Joel’s relationship with Mei looks to be thriving, and he might choose Mei over Midge. We cannot wait for season 4.
