For 80 years, Batman has graced screens, and we still don’t tire of seeing Gotham’s savior vanquish the city’s villains. Robert Pattinson plays Batman in the latest iteration of the masked vigilante’s story dubbed The Batman. The film starts with Batman questioning his methods in Gotham: two years after he began stalking the shadows, crime numbers have risen.

Gotham seems beyond redemption, at least in The Riddler’s eyes. The Riddler, the villain in The Batman, offers Gotham’s hero a chance to save the city by drowning it and killing its citizens in a bloody massacre. Riddler’s plan seems flawless, but the Bat, alongside Catwoman and lieutenant James Gordon, refuse to give in.

The Batman will be available on HBO Max in mid-April 2022

The coronavirus pandemic forced filmmakers to change film debuts. Traditionally, movies premiered in theatres before arriving on streaming platforms at the end of their theatrical runs. Filmmakers switched to streaming platform debuts after theatres shut down across the globe.

As theatres gradually open up, films have resumed their previous schedules, The Batman included. However, unlike in the past, The Batman will appear on HBO Max far sooner.

The Batman premiered in theatres on 4th March 2020. Warner Media CEO Jason Kilar told Collider that the film would appear on HBO Max 46 days after its theatrical debut. Therefore, we expect The Batman to appear on HBO Max on 19th April 2022.

“The Batman is going to show up on day 46 on HBO Max,” Jason said. “That is a huge change from where things were in 2018, 2017, 2016.”

Jason also hunted that other Warner Bros. titles scheduled to appear later in the year will follow a similar schedule. He said:

“I feel really, really good knowing that The Batman, and Black Adam, and The Flash, and Elvis, and a whole host of other movies, are literally going to be showing up on day 46 on HBO Max in a variety of territories all over the world. That is a very, very big change that I don’t think people appreciate, and I feel really good about it.”
