Nevermore Academy’s exterior looks tell you all you need to know about the people it harbors – outcasts like Wednesday Addams come to the school to master their abilities. The outcast species in Nevermore include Hydes, Werewolves, Vampires, Gorgons, Sirens, Shapeshifters, and Psychics.
Netflix’s Wednesday provides a different, darker look at the famous Addams family. However, unlike previous productions, it ignores the entire family, focusing on one member, Wednesday Addams. Wednesday has to master her abilities while solving a murder and stopping a serial killing menace in the town.
Nevermore Academy is not a real place, but its scenes were shot at a real castle
Nevermore Academy is a fictional creation of the showrunners. However, some of the scenes at Nevermore Academy were shot at a real castle.
Cantacuzino Castle in Busteni, Romania, was used to shoot exterior shots of the academy. The castle, which houses a sculpture exhibition and an art gallery, is open to the public daily for a fee. Most interior scenes were filmed in Buftea Studios in Bucharest.
The showrunners also shot some scenes in Transylvania, an area in Romania associated with the legend of Dracula and other bloodthirsty supernatural creatures.
