When will Netflix release Kingdom season 2?
Netflix announced that we would get season 2 of Kingdom even before season 1 was released. The streaming service later announced that season 2 of the show would premiere in March 2020. There is no exact release date yet, but we will keep you updated with developments.
What happened in Kingdom season 1?
Kingdom represents one of Netflix’s most successful forays into Korean productions. The series was written by Kim Eun-Hee, and it follows the trials of Crown Prince Chang. Chang is forced to leave the capital city after finding himself in the middle of a political controversy.
In an effort to clear his name, Chang finds himself investigating the man who used to treat his father. Chang visits the mysterious physician and finds out that he created a plague that raises the dead. The zombie plague also gives the dead an unquenchable appetite for human flesh.
Chang sets it upon himself to find a cure for this plague. He plans to unite the people of Korea against the dead raised by this plague. Many obstacles stand in his way, including the corrupt Korean leadership, and the famine that threatens the lives of the Korean people.
The Crown Prince also faces stern opposition from Lord Cho, the leader of a formidable clan which has always wanted power. The odds are certainly against Chang, but he is determined to become successful.
This incredible story is supplemented by out-of-this-world visuals and a world-class cast. Season 1 was a huge success, and we expect season 2 to be even better.
What to expect in Kingdom Season 2
The ending of season 1 revealed that the zombies aren’t affected by the sun. It means that Chang and his allies can’t depend on the sun to fight off the zombies. However, the zombies are affected by heat, and we wait to see how Chang’ will use this weakness to his advantage.
Seo-Bi and Beom-Pal may have found the source of the plague, but it might already be too late. A small body of water separates the pair from blood-hungry zombies, and it will take a miracle for them to escape.
It also seems highly likely that the zombies will break through the capital’s defenses. The fiver armies protecting the walls and gates have been instructed not to let anyone pass. The people that have been locked out of the capital will only add to the zombie numbers. It will take a major miracle to stop the zombies from breaking through.
Inside the capital, Queen Cho plans to lock out Chang from power by installing a fake heir to the throne. She plans to take the first son born from a group of pregnant women that she is taking care of. However, her plan might backfire because one of the pregnant women is the wife of Chang’s trusted guard Moo-Young.
Queen Cho might unknowingly aid Chang’s claim to the throne. There are many potential plotlines for season 2, and we simply can’t wait for March.
