Will Greta Come to Netflix?

If you do not want to want to wait to see Greta at home, will you be able to do so?

No, Greta will not be coming to Netflix, at least not in the near future.

Streaming is a big business, and there are several companies vying for these rights. This competition starts early as companies acquire the right to distribute films. Shortly after Greta appeared at the Toronto International Film Festival, Focus Features acquired its distribution rights for about $4 million.

Back in 2013, Focus Features signed a decade-long contract with HBO for exclusive streaming rights to its movies when they finish in theaters. This means that Netflix will not be able to acquire Greta.

On the other hand, there are other films and TV shows on Netflix that might be of interest to you. Some of them are:

  • Birdbox – a Netflix post-apocalypse thriller about the survivor of a society that was driven to suicide by an ominous unseen presence.
  • My Teacher, My Obsession – about a girl whose dad was an English teacher. When they changed schools, one of the students developed a disturbing infatuation with her father.
  • You Get Me – a Netflix film about a girl who develops a dangerous obsession on a boy that she had a one-night stand with.
  • You – a Netflix film about a bookstore manager that becomes obsessed with an aspiring writer.
