Recent photos of Ariana Grande have sparked fan concern that the 7 Rings hitmaker is unwell. Grande, who’s retreated from the public limelight in recent months, seems noticeably slimmer.

Ariana Grande has denied that she is sick

Ariana Grande posted a video on TikTok dispelling rumors that she is ill. “I just wanted to address your concerns about my body and talk a little bit about what it means to be a person with a body… [that’s] paid such close attention,” Ariana begins.

Grande says she is healthy and claims fans are ‘comparing her current body’ to ‘the unhealthiest version of my body’. She claims that when people thought she was healthy, she was actually ill. Grande states:

“I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that in fact wasn’t my healthy.”

“Healthy can look different,” Grande added. Grande says she hopes something good can come from her openness and vulnerability. She urges people to be gentle with each other, as you never know what another person is going through. Grande states:

“The second thing is, you never know what someone is going through. Even if you are coming from a loving place and a caring place, that person probably is working on it or has a support system that they are working on it with.”

Grande discourages any sort of discourse about people’s bodies, whether positive or negative. She states:

“’I think we should be gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies, no matter what. If you think you’re saying something good or well intentioned, whatever it is. healthy or unhealthy, big, small…we should really work towards not doing that as much. We should aim toward being safer, and keeping each other safer.”

Grande has opened up about health issues in the past. She told Billboard that she struggled with hypoglycemia, a condition characterized by low blood sugar. Hypoglycemia is manageable and typically doesn’t cause weight loss.

The songstress has also canceled shows due to various health conditions, including sinus infections and bronchitis. Grande revealed in October 2021 that she battled bronchitis for nearly half of her 2019 Sweetener World Tour.

“I was sick for four out of 10 months on the Sweetener Tour, thankfully I only had to cancel one show or two,” Grande said on the Backstage Pass With Eric Vetro podcast
