Interstellar was one of the most successful films of 2014. Jonathan and Christopher Nolan came up with this science fiction film set at a time when the future of humanity appears bleak. The year is 2067, and the earth is no longer habitable due to food shortages and climate change. In an attempt to find a new home for humanity, a group of scientists travels through a wormhole in space.
The movie was a huge commercial success, and it won an Academy Award for Best Visual effects. It also received a host of nominations in other Academy Award categories.
Is Interstellar available on Netflix?
The availability of Interstellar on Netflix depends on your region.
Currently, the film is available in Australia, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Each region received the film on a different day, and so we suspect that it is dependent upon each Netflix region to negotiate with the film’s distributors for streaming rights.
Therefore, the film might become available in other regions as time goes by.
Where is Interstellar available for streaming?
Interstellar is currently available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime.
However, we expect the film to come to other streaming services soon. Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures hold distribution rights to Interstellar.
Paramount Pictures and Netflix recently signed a long-term deal, and it could see Interstellar appear on Netflix. Furthermore, Paramount’s parent company, Viacom CBS, plans to roll out a new streaming service that will have Paramount movies.
Warner Bros. Pictures owns HBO, and so Interstellar might appear on HBO Max soon.
