Annabelle Comes Home will be coming out in theatres on June 26, 2019. It is a supernatural horror film, and it is the seventh film in the Conjuring Universe series. It is the sequel to Annabelle (2014) and Annabelle: Creation (2017).
The films in the Conjuring Universe series are based on the cases associated with the real-life paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren that deal with prominent cases of haunting. The Annabelle series is based on the Annabelle doll. The Annabelle doll was a Raggedy Anne doll that Ed and Lorrain Warren said was haunted. In addition to having her own series, Annabelle has made appearances in several other films in the Conjuring franchise.
Annabelle Comes Home takes place after the events of Annabelle and Annabelle: Creation when Ed and Lorraine Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, bring Annabelle home to their locked artifacts room. Apparently, Annabelle attacks the Warrens’ ten-year-old daughter, Judy, who is played by Mckenna Grace, and her babysitters, who are played by Madison Iseman and Katie Sarife.
It is too soon to know what the critics will think of this film. On the other hand, the first film in this series received 29% on Rotten Tomatoes, and the second film, Annabelle: Creation received 70%. All three of these movies were distributed by Warner Bros Pictures. The Conjuring Universe has been extremely successful, and apparently, if Annabelle Comes Home makes at least $64 million worldwide at the box office, The Conjuring Universe will become the most profitable R-rated film franchise in history, surpassing even The Matrix trilogy.
Will Annabelle Comes Home be coming to Netflix?
If you want to wait to watch Annabelle Comes Home and see it on Netflix, will you be able to?
It is too soon to tell whether Annabelle Comes Home will come to Netflix, but the probability it will is low.
As mentioned earlier, Annabelle Comes Home is being distributed by Warner Bros Pictures. Whether Annabelle Comes Home will come to Netflix depends in part on what will happen with Warner Bros new streaming service, WarnerMedia. Apparently, this service will launch a beta version in 2019, and the official release will be in 2020. That said, according to rumor, Warner Bros may still release some of its content to other streaming services like Netflix or Hulu.
The Conjuring (2013), the first film of the Conjuring Universe is on Netflix, and Annabelle (2014) is on Hulu with a Live TV add-on. Most of the films in this series are available to rent or purchase on Amazon Prime.
Netflix has other terrifying doll films currently available for streaming, however. Some of them are:
- Cult of Chucky – this is one of the installments of the original Child’s Play franchise, featuring another famous murderous doll.
- The Doll, The Doll 2, and Sabrina – these films center around a psychic named Laras, who is played by Sara Wijayanto, who investigates dolls who are possessed by evil entities.
