Elf’s availability on Netflix this year will depend on your region. The film won’t be coming to Netflix subscribers in the United States. Warner Bros. has opted to keep the film away from Netflix this year. The movie won’t also be available in the UK or in Canada.
Elf will be available on Netflix in mainland Europe and parts of Asia. Netflix subscribers in Australia will also get the chance to watch the film. The film has been available on Netflix Australia since December 2017, and it looks like it will remain there for the foreseeable future.

Warner Bros. most likely neglected to license Elf on Netflix because they plan to have it on their upcoming streaming platform, HBO Max. HBO Max is set to launch in May 2020, and Elf will most likely form part of its opening catalog.
The license for streaming Elf in the UK has been handed to Amazon Prime. The license was previously held by NowTV, but it is now with Amazon Prime. Elf will also be available on Amazon Prime for Canadian viewers.
