Smiley told Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay that his marriage to Brenda Morris broke down after his career took off. He added that his career doesn’t allow him to date. “It’s just hard to have a relationship; you are all over the place,” Smiley stated. He stated that it would require divine intervention for him to start dating.
Smiley and Brenda Morris welcomed four children: Brandon, D’Essence, Aaryn, and Malik. Brandon died in January 2023 of a drug overdose. “I just have bad news this morning. My son, Brandon Smiley, passed away this morning. Pray for my son’s mother and my son’s siblings, pray for my son and my daughter, everybody that was raised with Brandon,” Smiley told his Instagram followers on January 29, 2023.
