Anne Hegerty is a television host who is one of the ‘chasers’ in the game show The Chase. She is also a chaser on the Australian version of the game alongside Shaun Wallace and Mark Labbett. Since 2018, she has presented Britain’s Brightest Family on ITV. Anne has also appeared in several other quiz shows including Brain of Britain and Fifteen to One.
Hegerty emerged seventh in in 2018’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! That year, she was among the 27 celebrities who recorded the viral Christmas song, Rock with Rudolph.
Anne dispelled a Wiki entry which claimed that she was married to a man named Jake Hester
For a long time, Anne’s Wiki entry stated that she was married to Jake Hester. She kept changing it, but it kept reappearing. In August 2018, one Twitter user asked Anne about the fake marriage, and she replied that she’d given up trying to change it. “Is it still claiming I’m married to someone called Jake Hester?” Anne wrote. “I’ve given up trying to correct it.”
Anne’s fake marital status has since been deleted.
Anne’s autism prevents her from committing to a relationship
During her appearance on I’m a Celebrity, Anne detailed the effects of autism on her love life. Fellow campmate John Barrowman asked Anne if she had a partner, and Ann replied that she didn’t. She added:
“When I was working out that I was autistic it clarified a lot of things for me and one of those things was, ‘That’s why I never seem to make it work, that’s why I always feel claustrophobic in a relationship.’ That’s why I kind of think that’s probably not intended for me.”
She also revealed that many women hit on her thinking that she is a lesbian. “I have to say to them I’m very flattered, but at the same time your gaydar is broken,” she said.
