Rapper Takeoff tragically passed away in Houston, becoming the latest rapper to die due to gun violence. The beloved originator of the triplet flow that dominated hip-hop after Migos’ emergence was at a private party with his fellow rapper Quavo when the fatal shooting happened. Record label Quality Control said:
“It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved brother Kirsnick Khari Ball, known to the world as Takeoff. Senseless violence and a stray bullet has taken another life from this world and we are devastated. Please respect his family and friends as we all continue to process this monumental loss.”

Takeoff showed little interest in reveling in the fame that came with hip-hop success. While Quavo and Offset took center stage with flashy chains and relationship drama, he hovered in the background, preferring to focus on improving his rap game.
